Stocking Up: Pittsburghers Prepare for Snow

January 11 marked the first snowfall of 2016, and with the first flurries came a flurry of salt-buying and snow-plowing. After an initially warm and flake-free winter, Pittsburghers dashed out to get the staples: bread, milk, shovels and snow-melting rock salt.

Pittsburgh's WTAE News Team interviewed our own Chuck Lantzman about how quickly the Snow and Ice Management Team is able to get our trucks on the road to clear snowfall and make morning commutes safer. Lantzman explains our process for pre-treating, salting and plowing roads in and around Pittsburgh.

Don't let the next snowfall creep up of you: get your supply of locally prepared and bagged rock salt at The Salt Factory.
